剧情简介
To me, whether it's monoculturalism or multiculturalism depends on how much tolerance a society can give to different voices.
One type of voices that can vary is people's age to get married. But now in China, there are so many people talking about the significance to get married at the right age. When you reach a certain age and remain single, anyone can tease you about it. They would say:
"If you don't get married, your happiness isn't real happiness."
"If you aren't married, you are not normal."
"You are already old for the marriage market."
"If you don't get married, you'll be worthless."
Those criticisms suggest that most Chinese people set a standard answer for when to get married. It's like a True-or-False question, your marriage decision is either correct or wrong. Those people are unaware of possibilities between the two polars. Unmarried people may not meet their true love yet, may prefer to pursuit careers first, may set too high standards to find a partner, or may just choose not to be married now. If it's the only acceptable choice when people get married before their 30s, from my viewpoint, it's monoculturalism.
